[Mono-osx] How to build mono MDK from sources(git)?

I found enough information to build mono from source (git) but I'd like to
know how to build the entire framework so that I can for example use Xamarin
Studio with my compiled mono variant. Currently it complains that I need a
mono framework installed when it is launching...

What am I missing?

installation?
